CREATIVITY & MUSIC

Pianists studying with Wendy receive an all-round music education which covers theory, ear-training, composition and performance.  All students from beginners to advanced are encouraged to write their own music which is invaluable for tuning a pianist’s sensitivity to sound, understanding music notation and the way music is constructed.

Composers receive instruction in the art of communication through the notated score, analysis and orchestration.  Students are encouraged to develop the connection between their own feelings and sound, and their sense of drama is strengthened by the study of structure and timing in literature, stage and film works, and in nature.
